One of the most important factor for mortality due to respiratory diseases in Slovenia is KOPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). The highest mortality due to respiratory diseases in Slovenia is in the region of Notranjska, the lowest in the region of South- East Slovenia (2006-2008). Mortality due to respiratory diseases decreases; from 74/100.000 in the year 1999 to 57/100.000 in the year 2008.
