Good

Slovenia is well on its way to compliance with the 2020 non-ETS target. In 2018 Slovenia's non-ETS greenhouse gas emissions were 10% below the 2020 target. Nevertheless, in 2018 the trend was not in line with the target as emissions increased by 1.9%. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions decreased in only two sectors: other use and waste; other sectors saw an increase, with the highest increase in the transport sector, while in agriculture GHG emissions remained practically unchanged.

Despite the good results, additional measures are needed for long-term GHG emissions reduction in line with the mid- and long-term targets.
