Emission productivity in Slovenia has improved in 2020. Compared to the EU, progress in the field of emission productivity in Slovenia is still too slow. Despite the progress made in the last two years, the link between economic development and measures to reduce GHG emissions needs to be further strengthened.

The Strategy Development of Slovenia 2030 has set a target of improving the productivity of emissions, namely the objective of achieving the EU average for 2030. In 2020, Slovenia was still lagging behind the EU average. Emissions productivity has improved in 2020. The target set for the Strategy indicator is not a value-defined target and follows the objective of achieving the EU average.
