Environmental indicators in Slovenia

Environmental indicators are based on graphs, maps and assessments and as such present environmental trends in Slovenia. The indicators represent one of the four pillars of our environmental reporting, and are prepared in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act. The Environmental Indicators in Slovenia website enables users to browse among 180 indicators. They are based on numerical data and they indicate the state, characteristics and trends of environmental development in Slovenia. They are prepared using a systematic approach based on data and monitoring, as shown in the information pyramid.

[PO11] Specific CO₂ emissions in the residential sector

In 2020, specific CO₂ emissions in the residential sector amounted to 9.2 kg CO₂ eq/m² or 3% more than the previous year and were 0.4 percentage points below the annual target,. The 2020 target was thus not achieved. The increase was mainly due to the increase of CO₂ emissions from the use of fuels in this sector by almost 4%. The increase was caused on one hand by the colder year, and on the other hand by the coronavirus pandemic and the implementation of measures for preventing the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
