The indicator “Public Attitude towards Energy Consumption” points to a stagnation in the self-assessment of final energy consumption in households. The share of households that estimated their energy consumption as low or very low was increasing between 2010 and 2019, but then the trend reversed, and by 2025 it had decreased by 6 percentage points, returning to a similar level as in 2010. A similar situation is observed with households considering more efficient energy use. The share of the latter was increasing in the period from 2011 to 2017, and then it started to fall, but in 2025 it is still 8 percentage points higher than in 2011, which indicates a positive trend. The indicator also reveals an extremely large potential for reducing final energy consumption in households, as a good three-quarters of households in 2025 rated the energy consumption in their dwelling as medium, high, or very high. The largest share of such households is in the Posavska, Koroška, and Pomurska regions, and in Southeast Slovenia.
