Key message
Neutral

Large majority of registered passenger cars are still powered by conventional fuels (gasoline and diesel).  Although the total share of alternative-fuel vehicles tripled in the period from 2019 to 2025, it still remains very small. More optimism comes from the forecasts of respondents in the Energy Efficiency Survey of Slovenia – REUS 2025 regarding the future purchase of an alternative-fuel car, and from statistical data on newly registered passenger cars last year, when the share of newly registered alternative-fuel vehicles exceeded one-third of all newly registered vehicles for the first time.
