Specific CO₂ emissions in the residential sector amounted to 8,9 kg CO₂ eq/m² in 2019, which is 2% less than the previous year. The reduction was mainly due to the reduction of CO₂ emissions from the use of fuels in this sector. Specific emissions were 6% lower than the indicative annual target value. In order to achieve the 2020 target they will have to be slightly reduced, by less than 1%. With the exception of 2015, when the indicator value increased, its value in the period 2010–2019 on the annual basis always decreased.
