By 2017, the implementation of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy sources (RES) measures in the public sector resulted in a cumulative energy savings of 128.2 GWh, and the cumulative CO2 emissions reduction was 29 kt. Both indicators are now lagging behind the indicative annual target values already by 35 and 30 %. Given the foreseen implementation of the measures in 2018, we expect that the values of both indicators will continue to increase in the future. However, the lag behind the target values, resulting from the lower intensity of investments in the period 2015–2017, is unlikely to be compensated by 2020.
