GHG emissions per unit of milk production are characterized by large fluctuations between years, mainly affected by conditions for feed production. In the period 2005−2017, there was no clear reduction trend (despite a clear trend over a longer period of 1985−2017). Values after 2014 show a favorable trend and rough preliminary estimates for 2018 (not shown on Slika 26) indicate that we will approach the trend line leading towards the goal (0.771 kg CO2 equivalent in 2020). Achieving the objective will depend on the environmental and general conditions in the sector over the coming years. Possible difficulties in achieving the target will be (among others) the consequence of unrealized activity "feed analysis and computation of feeding rations for cattle and/or small ruminants" from the original proposal of the agri-environment-climate payments of the Rural Development Program 2014−2020.
