The amount of incentives for the implementation of energy efficiency (EE) and renewable energy sources (RES) measures in the non-ETS industry in 2017 could not be estimated, as the available data are insufficient and do not reflect the actual situation, or the supported projects are still being implemented. There were no Eco Fund subsidies for this purpose paid to the non-ETS industry in 2017, and the projects co-financed under the Operational Programme for the Implementation of the European Cohesion Policy in the 2014–2020 period (OP EKP) are not prepared in such a way that the monitoring of climate goals related effects would be possible, since also the goals, which are set, are not climate orientated.

In the future, it is therefore necessary to use the funds available for the climate related projects more climate goals orientated, to set concrete goals in relation to the transition to a low-carbon economy (e.g. reduction of energy consumption and GHG emissions, increase in energy production from RES) and to ensure systematic monitoring of these incentives.
