The share of renewable energy sources (RES) in the use of fuels in industry amounted to 10,7% in 2024, which was 7.1 percentage points behind the annual indicative target value. The 2024 indicative target was thus not achieved. In order to achieve the target of 30% of RES in the use of fuels in industry in 2030, the share of RES will have to increase by 19.3 percentage points or by about approximately 3.2 percentage points per year.

In companies included in the EU GHG emissions trading scheme (EU-ETS), the share of RES in the use of fuels amounted to 0.76% in 2024, reaching the lowest value in the period 2010–2024. In the non-ETS industry, the share of RES fluctuates considerably. In the period 2010–2024, the largest share, 24.6%, was achieved in 2024, and the smallest, 13.8%, in 2013.
